Los Angeles-based fashion-comfort brand Nayeli will debut for spring ’11. The name, which is derived from the Mexican Zapotec dialect, means I love you. Company founder Mitch Abramson said the series of contemporary styles is built around a proprietary technology he has coined Comfinesse, a support system that includes moisture-wicking linings, multi-layer cushioned insoles, wider heels for better stability and non-slip rubber outsoles. The line is also being targeted at pregnant women, and 5 percent of wholesale revenues of all footwear will be donated to the American Pregnancy Association, a non-profit group that promotes pregnancy wellness through education and support, said Abramson. Set to launch at retail in March, the line retails from $65 for sandals to $175 for wedges.

Footwear newcomers Jane Gutcher and Jennifer Mackintosh are looking to give women on the go a style boost with new brand Martina Riley. Launching for spring ’11, the 14-style collection consists of travel-friendly shoes, boots, sandals and wedges. Ten of the styles also feature interchangeable, leather uppers in bright and neutral colors, metallics and embossed prints detailed with gold and silver embellishments. Martina Riley ranges from $225 to $465, and is being targeted at mid-level to high-end boutiques and department stores, including Nordstrom.
