PARIS — British shoe chain Shoe Studio Group, which recently reported it was for sale, has found a buyer.
Dune, a U.K.-based footwear chain with 42 stores and 30 shop-in-shops across the U.K. and Ireland, last week announced it had acquired Shoe Studio Group. The combined group will become a major U.K. footwear retailing force with sales of more than $211 million, a staff of 2,500 and 45 stores and 300 shop-in-shops.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for Dune. We have been looking to expand our concession business over the coming years and the purchase of SSG, with its unparalleled distribution outlets, fulfills this plan in one go,” said Daniel Rubin, Dune’s executive chairman and founder of the 16-year-old chain. “Combining our design and sourcing strength with the strong brands within the SSG stable will create a potent force within the premium affordable footwear sector.”
