Puma Inks Mobile Phone Deal

Puma signed a license agreement with Sagem, a French mobile communications company, to launch a Puma mobile phone.

Together, the companies will blend Sagem’s experience in the mobile marketplace with Puma’s reputation in sportswear, according to a statement released on Tuesday. For the Herzogenaurach, Germany-based athletic firm, the collaboration is one more step toward broadening the brand into new categories.

The Puma mobile phone will target the company’s core customer and debut in the second quarter of 2010. The phones will be available at Puma stores, as well as sold through phone companies.
