Kibardin Takes Creative Reins at Lorenzo Banfi

Luxury shoe designer Max Kibardin was tapped this week for the top creative post at Lorenzo Banfi.
The Milan, Italy-based firm appointed Kibardin as creative director, and he will oversee the full collections of men’s and women’s footwear beginning with the fall ’09 season.
Kibardin, who started his career in fashion as a model for Chanel, received the Vivian Infantino Emerging Talent award from FOOTWEAR NEWS in 2007, and in 2008 teamed up with Bologna, Italy-based Furla as a design consultant for the fall ’08 and spring ’09 seasons.
“I am glad I can work on the new collections to shape the future of a brand that produces real objects of desire [and] targets customers who can understand and appreciate fine, luxury and timeless accessories,” Kibardin said in a statement.
