Looking beyond its successful footwear collaboration with celebrity stylist Philip Bloch, Hush Puppies announced on Wednesday that the two will extend the partnership to include an eyewear collection. Kenmark Group will be the official licensee of The Philip Bloch for Hush Puppies eyewear line that will launch eight to 10 styles at the March 2009 International Vision Expo East Optical Tradeshow in New York. “I was inspired to create a line of glasses that will have my four most important aspects of style: They must look sexy, fit comfortably, be affordable and have the unique design ability to be transformational,” Bloch said in a statement. “They are officious for the office, cool for play and chic for the evening.” According to the company, limited-edition sunglasses will also be available for celebrity styling and special orders.

Adidas’ Style Essentials

To celebrate the global launch of the Style Essentials collection, a volume-channel, sports-fashion footwear line, Adidas is unveiling a new Website today at After debuting last July in the U.S. (with launch partner Famous Footwear) and in China (where there are 540 Style Essentials stores), the collection will now be available in Europe and Japan. As previously reported in FOOTWEAR NEWS, the Style Essentials line mixes influences from the brand’s Originals, Y-3 and sports performance collections and is generally targeted to big-box stores. Globally, the line will launch at Decathlon in France, Deichmann in Germany, Sports Direct in the U.K. and Xebio in Japan. Plans also call for an additional 310 stores in China by the end of 2009.
