NEW YORK — Tim Hutchson, VP and GM of Red Wing Shoe Co. will retire on Dec. 31 after 37 years with the company.
Mark Urdahl has been named VP of global work in his place. Previously, Urdahl was in charge of the Red Wing, Minn.-based company’s international business unit.
Hutchson began his career in 1972 in the retail marketing department and has held a number of positions at Red Wing. According to a company statement, over the last seven years, he provided leadership and direction for the work boot business.
“Tim’s leadership, vision and hard work have been key elements of our success,” William Sweasy, Red Wing chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “His knowledge of the shoe business, product development and financial acumen has been outstanding. We will miss his contributions.”
Under his guidance, said Sweasy, Red Wing expanded its work boot business with the introduction of the Worx and Carhartt lines.
