Swiss comfort brand MBT confirmed late last week that Sheri Poe, CEO of U.S. operations, is no longer with the company.
Poe was hired by MBT in 2007, the same year Masai Group International debuted the Swiss brand in the U.S. The company declined to comment on the leadership change, but confirmed that interim global CEO Ken Pucker, an ex-Timberland exec, will take on Poe’s responsibilities.
Several retailers, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Poe was not the best fi t for the brand, but declined to comment further. However, some store owners remain upbeat on MBT. “Sales are fabulous,” said Ed Habre, president and CEO of Portland, Ore.-based Shoe Mill. “The quality and customer acceptance is still very high.”
