NEW YORK — New York-based Pastry Footwear, a division of Run Athletics Inc., announced Wednesday the introduction of the Pastry Thin Mint collection of footwear and coordinating backpacks.
Inspired by their involvement with the Girl Scout organization, Pastry co-founders Vanessa and Angela Simmons created the Thin Mint collection for women and kids.
The Thin Mint footwear was created from the body of Pastry’s Fab Cookie sneaker and will come in both chocolate brown and white. The basic tenets of the Girl Scout philosophy are written on the outsoles of the shoes.
A portion of proceeds from the sale of the shoes, which retail for $70 for women’s and $45 for kids, and the coordinating backpack, which retails for $65, will go to the Girl Scouts of the USA.
“Our relationship with the Girl Scouts is very meaningful to us,” said Vanessa Simmons in a statement. “To have the opportunity to further support their efforts of empowering young women with the creation of the Thin Mint Collection is very special.”
