“I’ve never had a plan for anything,” said the 96-year-old style icon and designer of HSN’s Rara Avis line.

“I’m not doing anything differently than I did 70 years ago,” says Apfel.
Apfel will receive our first-ever Icon of the Year Award at FN’s Achievement Awards ceremony on Nov. 29.

“Of all the things I never thought I’d be, fashion maverick was one, fashion icon was another,” Apfel said while accepting her award.
The 93-year-old fashion icon gave FN a peek into her shoe closet, which includes faves Roger Vivier, Christian Louboutin and Salvatore Ferragamo.
