The San Francisco-based global retailer has chosen Austin, Texas-based flip-flop label Hari Mari as its new brand partner, and this week will begin selling styles from the label in select Gap stores.
The union is part of Gap’s corporate social responsibility initiative, which partners with outside brands for charitable endeavors.
Gap will be stocking men’s and women’s looks from Hari Mari’s Scouts Collection — a series of premium flip-flops made with nubuck leather footbeds and nonslip rubber outsoles, as well as key comfort features like a memory-foam toe post and soft EVA midsole.
The styles, outfitted with nylon straps lined in soft jersey fabric, come in a range of trendy color combos, such as navy and orange, blue and olive, and pink and tan.
The flip-flops will retail in Gap stores for $65, with 1 percent of each sale going to Hari Mari’s philanthropic initiative, Flops Fighting Cancer. That program helps pay for medicine, treatment and hospital costs for children fighting cancer, through partnerships with Cook Children’s Health Care System and Dell Children’s Medical Center in Texas.
Recently the brand debuted a new collection, the all-leather Fields line, made with soft nubuck leather footbeds and straps. And this spring it launched its first children’s line: the Cub Scouts collection.
