Boomer Phelps is getting just as much press as his gold medal-winning daddy during the 2016 Rio Olympics — for his patriotic style. The 3-month-old, who has more than 140,000 Instagram followers, has been prepping for the Summer Games by dressing in his best red, white and blue gear since the Olympic trials.
While in Rio de Janiero, Phelps’ son has been rocking his go-to moccasins by Freshly Picked. Most recently, Boomer was snapped wearing a pair of the brand’s Go For Gold American flag-inspired shoes.
Over the weekend, Boomer Phelps was photographed in another pair of Freshly Picked moccasins. Wearing the style’s gold colorway and a “Gold Medal Athlete” tee, the baby was featured on his Instagram with the caption: “I’m ready to go after my daddy re retires.”
The newborn has been spotted cheering for his dad — and sleeping — in the stands of the Olympics Aquatics Stadium alongside his mom, Phelps’ fianceé, Nicole Johnson.
So far, Phelps has won gold for the U.S. in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay. The world’s most-decorated Olympian will race for another gold medal Tuesday night in the men’s 200m butterfly.
