Paige VanZant triumphed in her last fight, against Bec Rawlings in August, with a decisive knockout. The Reebok-sponsored star will look to have similar success in her next bout, a Dec. 17 matchup at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif. with Michelle Waterson. To prepare for the contest, VanZant is doing up to three MMA-specific workouts a day with Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, six days a week. The UFC standout is also including CrossFit in her preparations. “I’m doing interval training where it’s [timed] like a round, [and] I’m doing five 5-minute rounds,” she said. “It basically replicates the amount of time I would be in a fight.” For those workouts in the box, Reebok keeps VanZant laced up in its CrossFit Nano 6.0. Outside of her UFC career, the athlete and budding TV star — who came in second on season 22 of “Dancing with the Stars” in May — is preparing for more on-screen work. While VanZant said some of her upcoming appearances are still in the contractual phase, she confirmed that she recently filmed an episode of the Food Network series “Chopped.”
