Sneakerheads at this past weekend’s two-day Sneaker Con NYC brought heat to buy, sell and trade, attracting the likes of today’s most noteworthy kick collectors. Footwear News caught up with three premier collectors — Dallas Penn, Teddy “Boost God” Safarian and Michael “Mr. Throwback” Spitz — to see what sneakers they’re looking for to add to their collections.

Here’s what they had to say.

Dallas Penn

“[Air Jordan] ‘Doernbecher’ 6 is on my wish list still, ‘Brazil’ [Air Jordan] 6 — probably more attainable — on my wish list still. On my wish list still is ‘Paranomran’ [Nike] Foamposites [and] ‘Oregon Duck’ [Nike] Foamposite. And just sneakers, period. It does not stop. I made sure that I still have two feet because when you buy a pair of sneakers, you have to buy a left and a right shoe.” [Ed. Note: Dallas Penn recently had a diabetes-related scare.]

“The only thing I’m looking for is all friends-and-family stuff, like the friends-and-family Pharrell [NMD], the plum ones with the kanji on them and the ‘Firestarter’ [NMD] and just random stuff like that. Everything else I pretty much have. Which I passed on once for $1,400 like an idiot and now they’re going for $6,000 — someone here has a pair for $6,00 and another kid sold a pair for $1,600. Other than that, it’s random stuff. I’m missing the ‘Multicolor’ [Ultra Boost] 1.0s and just other weird stuff that I can’t find my size.”

Michael “Mr. Throwback” Spitz

“As an original guy, I should have OGs on my feet, but I’m 35 so I need comfort — and to be honest, keeping up with these young kids, I have to wear a really comfortable pair like [Nike] Yeezys. I have the ‘Zens’ and the ‘Blinks,’ so I need the ‘Tans’ to finish off the collection. I would want an original pair of Jordan 2s from 1987; they’re only made in Italy and they’re like $5,000 — I can’t pay that kind of money. At this point, with $5,000 I should buy my wife something. I really want [Nike] Air Mags. As a 35-year-old, ‘Back to the Future’ is one of my favorite movies of all time, [and] to have an original pair is cool with me.”
