On Wednesday, Beckham shared his congratulations on Instagram.
“Welcome to the @adidasfootball club @paulpogba! I played my whole career with adidas where I created so many special memories with this brand. Enjoy every moment of the adventure, I wish you all the best! #BeTheDifference,” Beckham wrote.
Pogba, a 23-year-old star midfielder on Italian club Juventus and a member of the French national team, has won three Italian league titles and in 2015 was named to the FIFPro World XI team—a roster of 58 of the world’s best soccer players.
Adidas and Pogba collaborated on a exclusive Ace 16+ Purecontrol cleat in black and gold. The cleats will be made in limited quantity, and Pogba will wear the shoes on the pitch.
“This is the first sponsor contract I’ve signed and it’s a very important decision for me,” said Pogba. “I chose adidas because we have shared passions and values. Adidas has the same vibe as I do, on and off the pitch.”
Pogba went on to explain that in Adidas he found a brand that will allow him to express himself and to explore fresh ideas. The Adidas soccer roster includes stars Lionel Messi, Mesut Ozil, Gareth Bale and others.
