Nike has lots of celebrated sneaker franchises that have stood the test of time and still remain popular among consumers today. One of its popular running franchises, the Vomero, has been updated and will hit stores this week.
The Nike Air Zoom Vomero 11 arrives Thursday and will retail for $140.
Historically, the Vomero franchise – first introduced in 2006 – was known for soft and responsive cushioning, a silhouette built to hold up for running longer distances. This remains consistent with the latest iteration of the shoe.
The shoe, designed with comfort and speed in mind, features an Air Zoom cushioning units in the heel and forefoot, Lunarlon cushioning, Flywire cables for an adaptive fit, foam in the tongue to cushion the top of the foot from lace pressure, and a breathable mesh upper.
For its initial release, the Air Zoom Vomero 11 will come in two colorways: anthracite, black and white; and cool gray, hyper orange and black.
New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick spoke with Footwear News in October about his favorite shoes, which included the Nike Air Zoom Vomero. “[The Nike Zoom Vomero] is my favorite shoe. I think they’re really comfortable and have good color choices,” he said. “I wear some sort of Vomero every day. And I wear them for training, too.”
