Kevin Hart Stars In A Pair Of Foot Locker Ads

To launch Foot Locker’s February marketing campaign, “Hottest Month of the Year,” the athletic retailer enlisted the services of comedian and actor Kevin Hart.

The campaign is the retailer’s effort to tell the stories of the hottest product and gear releases to be sold in its stores. The celebrity is the star of two ads for the retailer, titled “Collection” and “Borrowed,” 30-second spots that showcase both Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker’s latest product offerings.  “Collection” also features charismatic Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green.

“Appearing in a commercial with a comedic talent like Kevin Hart is an honor for me,” Green said in a statement. “Plus, I got a sneak peek at Foot Locker’s hottest gear, and the opportunity to help kick off this amazing month.”

Hart’s spot with Green takes place on a fashion runway with the comedian introducing his clothing line to Green, but the line is actual garbage. After Green makes note of Foot Locker’s “Hottest Month of the Year,” Hart changes his line to Foot Locker gear, which leads to headlines of the comedian being sued.

“Kevin Hart and Draymond Green have been great to work with, and we’re pleased with the entertaining outcome of both spots,” said Stacy Cunningham, EVP of marketing for Foot Locker, in a statement. “February is an exciting month for us, at both Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker, and this campaign highlights some of the fresh new gear we’re showcasing this month. It’s a great way to kick off our ‘Hottest Month of the Year.’”

The Kids Foot Locker ad shows Hart wearing his son’s clothing while relaxing on his couch, with his son checking the collar of the shirt Hart’s wearing to find his name.

The videos made their online debut today and will appear on TV starting tomorrow.

“Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker are taking February to a whole new level with these great spots,” Hart said in a statement. “And being able to work on two completely different commercials was a fun way to highlight their newest collections.”

Last month, Nike showcased the gear that Hart – a known fitness enthusiast – wears when he trains. Hart also revealed last month his signature shoe with Nike, a trainer named the Hustle Hart, on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” The shoe will hit stores in April.
