One of the NBA’s biggest footwear aficionados will test his business savvy with the launch of his own sneaker store later this month.

Current NBA free agent J.R. Smith, who last played for the 2016 NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers, is on track to open his sneaker store, Team Swish, in his hometown in August. Team Swish will be located in Millstone Township, N.J., where Smith grew up and honed his hoops skills.

“While I had been working on it for a while, it was just the matter of when was the right time,” Smith wrote on the National Basketball Players Association website. “Ever since I was a kid, I always dreamed of having my own sneaker store.”

In addition to sneakers and apparel, the Team Swish store will stock lifestyle items such as backpacks, including an upcoming collaboration between Smith and Sprayground.

To celebrate the store’s opening and back to school season, Smith will donate 400 backpacks to local organizations for kids. For more information, visit the NBPA website to read the full interview with Smith.
