In a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday, the actor-wrestler spoke with breathless enthusiasm when he debuted the prototype for his new Under Armour sneakers.
Johnson has been testing his first signature shoe for the sportswear brand for the past year, adding that he anticipates a release in early 2017.
“Just know that I put in a year of sweat equity,” he explained in the video, presenting the new kicks and highlighting the style.
The black high-tops feature embossed treatments, motivational phrases on the upper and yellow accents throughout the design.
The tongue is emblazoned with “Earn it” on one shoe, and the other is stamped with “Blood, sweat and respect.”
Under Armour branding is included around the toe bed, and Johnson’s logo is on the counter.

Johnson said he came up with an early name for the shoe — “Rocks FIYA.”
“ ‘Cause you’ll chase your greatness in them by the only way we know how … earning it,” he added in the video caption. “Been training in these beasts for a year now so by the time they drop to you at the top of 2017 — you’ll know I’ve given my blood and sweat in them and kept it. And one more thing…they’re slightly aggressive, as alphas are. Blood, sweat and respect. First two we give, last one we earn.”
The “Ballers” star also gave a shout-out to Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry for sending him a pair of Under Armour’s new blue suede Curry Lux sneakers, which drop Saturday.
“I appreciate these size 13s,” he said. “Big s/o to my boy @stephencurry30 for sending me pairs of the new #CurryLux’s. Dope colorways in suede and leather!”
In February, Johnson and UA announced a long-term partnership dubbed “Project Rock” that would include lifestyle and footwear products in the collection. One month later, the collaborators unveiled a line of bags.
Since the announcement, Under Armour released two bags with The Rock’s branding in March, debuted a commercial in April and unveiled a mobile alarm clock app — Rock Clock — in May.
