The label will introduce shoe styles featuring its Be Energized system in a 2017 spring collection of sport, casual and sandal designs.
Dr. Scholl’s senior designer Katie Moore told Footwear News that the innovation is aimed at “exceeding consumer expectations for comfort.”
“This was a natural progression in a long line of proprietary comfort technology,” Moore explained. “At Dr. Scholl’s Shoes, technology and specifically comfort technology, is a space where we constantly explore, develop and evolve. We are known for delivering shoes designed to keep you going from day to night — shoes that keep up with your active life.”
Be Energized’s energy-return midsoles are designed for all-day comfort and provide shock absorption that reduces foot pressure and fatigue.
Some of the benefits of the technology include a footbed crafted with an SEBS compound (kinetic foam) that does not break down over time and improved cushioning properties.
The 2017 collection also includes the BE One comfort package of lightweight, unlined and deconstructed shoes. The Be Energized Tosha sneakers feature a canvas upper, retailing for $65; the Be One Blink sandals feature nubuck and gore for its upper and an EVA outsole and footbed, retailing for $60.
The footwear will be in stores around March and April, on the label’s website, at select retailers and other online partners.
