British 3-D artist Joe Hill has created some wild street artwork over the years. For instance, there was the “Games of Thrones” ice wall for HBO and a Guinness Record-winning cliff-hanger for Reebok.

His latest reality-bending creation was unveiled yesterday in Bari, Italy, and features three members of the Italian national football team, outfitted in new kits from Puma.

Hill, of 3D Joe & Max, spent hours in the wee hours of the morning painting the 3-D scene in the middle of Bari’s Piazza del Ferrarese, and drew a crowd as he worked. The mural shows Gli Azzurri players Marco Verratti, Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini sitting on a set of fictional steps that lead down to a football pitch.

To see the mural take shape, watch Hill in action:

Hill said of the project, “Italy is such an icon of world football, it was a real honor to create this 3-D street artwork to show the new shirt design. We were very happy to give Bari and Italy a taste of our work and hope they enjoy it.”

The art will remain on view in the piazza throughout the week, as Team Italia fans begin to gather in Bari for a friendly match against France tomorrow night.

Puma’s new away kit for the Italian team went on sale today at Puma.com.
