The Air Jordan 2 Retro “Wing It” arrives Saturday and will retail for $190. The shoe will also be available in grade school, preschool and toddler sizes, with retail prices of $140, $80 and $60, respectively.
The shoe, according to Nike, pays tribute to its ad campaign for its original release in 1986. This edition’s most identifying characteristic: the words “Wing It” stitched into the heels of the shoes. The shoe’s upper is predominantly white with black making an appearance on the heel and collar, and dark gray on the tongue. The shoe’s midsole is black, and its outsole is white and dark gray.
Staying true to its roots, the shoe boasts the original Wings branding on the tongue. Other nods to Michael Jordan are featured inside the tongue, with a tab that features “23” on each shoe and Jumpman branding on the inserts.
The brand’s last release to use inspiration from a past ad campaign was the Air Jordan 12 Retro “The Master,” which hit stores on Feb. 27 and retailed for $190.
