Last week’s release of “Pokemon Go” has given many the chance “to be the very best” at the millennial-prized game of catching Pokemon.

A spinoff of the original 1996 video game, the augmented reality mobile app has kids and adults alike playing the game around the world. Using GPS-navigation, the game incorporates competitive elements such as capturing Pokemon that appear in real-world situations, leveling up your Pokemon and collecting items at Pokestops digitally attached to certain real life locations.

Less than a week after its release, “Pokemon Go” officially surpassed American Twitter users and has been named the biggest game in history. Thanks to the app, Nintendo’s stock shares grew 25 percent in Tokyo on Monday. The game can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS mobile devices.

For the fans really determined to play “Pokemon Go” and look like the characters from the original series, we’ve rounded up some Pokemon trainer-inspired shoes.

1. Ash Ketchum’s look: Jordan Jumpman Team II

As the main Pokemon trainer followed throughout the animated series, Ash Ketchum would find these Jordan Jumpman Team II sneakers great for all his travels catching Pokemon.

2. Misty’s look: Puma Sky II Hi FG

Misty was one of Ash’s first travel companions and mainly specializes in water-type Pokemon. She would definitely rock Puma’s Sky II Hi FG leather sneakers.

3. Brock’s look: Vans SK8-HI

Brock is another one of Ash’s original travel companions and would probably wear these comfortable Vans Sk8-Hi kicks.

4. James’ look: Ugg Messner

James is a member of the evil Team Rocket, who often try to steal Ash’s Pikachu and other rare Pokemon. These Ugg Messner boots would be great for tucking in your jeans like James does.

 5. May’s look: Nike Air Bakin

One of Ash’s newer travel companions, May would sport a more tomboyish look in a pair of the Nike Air Bakin’.

6. Dawn’s look: Dr. Martens Pascal Virginia

Dawn is a Pokemon trainer and travel companion to Ash and Brock. Though difficult to come across pastel pink knee-high boots like hers, a pair of Dr. Martens totally suit Dawn’s feminine look.

 7. Jessie’s look: ASOS KICK IT OFF Over The Knee Boots

Jessie is part of Team Rocket and James’ partner in crime. It seems Jessie has been ahead of the fashion trends with her signature thigh-high black boots like these from ASOS.

8. Clemont’s look: Chuck Taylor All Star High Top

Clemont is one of the newest Pokemon characters, training Pokemon alongside Ash. A classic pair of black Chuck Taylor high-tops suit his clean, one-piece look.
