With New York Fashion Week: Men’s officially over, the growing roster of participating labels provided a number of new shoe collaborations to dissect. Sneakers prevailed again this season, with brands opting to elevate classic athletic styles from K-Swiss and Air Jordan on the runway. Del Toro loafers also made an appearance at the Palmiers du Mal show — a refreshing style in a sea of low-tops.
For the top five shoe collaborations, read on:
Billy Reid x K-Swiss
Marking five years together, Billy Reid and K-Swiss collaborated once again on leather low-tops this season. “It all started with an old K-Swiss Surf & Court shoe I had,” Reid said backstage before his show. “It had holes in it and was torn to shreds, and K-Swiss wasn’t making the shoe at the time. It was obsolete. So we asked to remake it and put our own spin on it.”
Todd Snyder x Cole Haan
The two brands collaborated on the Cortland boot in three treatments this season: dark brown suede, tan suede and black waterproof leather. Snyder and Cole Haan have a continuing relationship and collaborate on shoes every season.
Palmiers du Mal x Del Toro
An unexpected collaboration, Del Toro loafers — in black-and-red quilted leather — and chukka sneakers supported the looks at the Palmiers du Mal runway show.
Public School x Air Jordan
Having previously teamed up on sneakers in December, Public School and Air Jordan debuted their latest style: a black and white Air Jordan 12.
Cadet x UGG
Ugg is further infiltrating the fashion world. The brand collaborated with Cadet on runway shoes this season including suede and shearling Chukkahs, as well as waterproof leather boots.
