What shoe does Giuseppe Zanotti consider his best design?

“The Venere was a [hit] style that I enjoyed designing. The snake silhouette enhances and elongates the leg. My idea was to create a wow shoe, a jewel for the foot. The result was extremely successful, and I decided to create new editions every season,” he said.

“For spring ’16, I designed an edgy chain-embellished version, the Samantha, featuring iconic Zanotti elements like chains and patent leather,” Zanotti added.

The designer is a hit among the celebrity set, and recently talked to FN about custom designs for Karolina Kurkova, Miley Cyrus and Janet Jackson. In fact, the look for Kurkova was a custom version of the Venere sandal.

“I have been very lucky to be able to work with many celebrities and artists throughout my career — I [can’t pick just] one favorite,” he said. “There was the time I made the shoes for Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz Tour. More recently, I made custom-made heels for Karolina Kurkova for the Met Gala.”
