Calvin Harris was all smiles while out and about in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon. The DJ was spotted in a pair of Adidas Yeezy Boost 350s in the Moonrock version that was released in 2015.
The colorway hasn’t been the most worn style created by Kanye West, but it has been seen on the likes of Brooklyn Beckham and, most recently, Kim Kardashian West while on a family trip to Disneyland.
Harris has been in the headlines this week for not only dropping his much-anticipated music video for the hit song “This Is What You Came For,” featuring Rihanna, but for his ties with Taylor Swift. The couple announced their breakup earlier this month with a tweet from Harris that said, “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end and what remains is a tremendous amount of love and respect.” The tweet has since been deleted.
Swift herself has had a lot of media attention lately with regard to Kanye West’s song “Famous,” which caused controversy — and prompted Swift’s brother to throw his Yeezys in the trash — between the two artists in February.
The dispute over the controversial lyrics — “For all my Southside n****s that know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b***h famous” — resurfaced this week after the release of Kardashian West’s GQ cover story. In it, the reality star discussed Swift’s reaction and said that the singer was aware of the song and its contents before it was released.
In the same article, a rep for Swift responded, “Kanye West never played the song for Taylor Swift. Taylor heard it for the first time when everyone else did and was humiliated. Kim Kardashian’s claim that Taylor and her team were aware of being recorded is not true, and Taylor cannot understand why Kanye West, and now Kim Kardashian, will not just leave her alone.”
