The first family celebrated their final White House Christmas tree lighting in style.

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, along with daughter Sasha, lit the Christmas tree on the White House Ellipse on Thursday night. As usual, Michelle and Sasha provided style inspiration with their looks. Fifteen-year-old Sasha paired her oversized deep-blue coat with jeans and a pair of blue velvet booties — a very on-trend choice for the younger of the two Obama daughters (18-year-old Malia was not in attendance). Michelle capped off her look with black patent-leather booties.

During the event, Michelle read a children’s book with Olympic gold-medal swimmer Simone Manuel. Actress Eva Longoria introduced the first family, and musical guests included Kelly Clarkson, James Taylor, Garth Brooks, Marc Anthony and Chance the Rapper.
