World Class Footwear Founder Barry Hanna Dies At 73

Veteran retailer Barry Hanna, founder of World Class Footwear Inc. in Miami, died of a heart attack before the holidays. He was 73.

According to longtime employee Steve Isaacs, financial controller for the company, “Hanna had passion for footwear and worked until the day he died. It’s a passion that doesn’t exist anymore in the industry.”

The company operates four Battaglia Shoes stores in South Florida. Hanna’s daughter Gina Hanna, VP of the company, will continue in her role. Barry Hanna is survived by his wife, Sonia; son George; daughters Gina, Lisa and Natalie and nine grandchildren.
