It’s already time for another earnings season. Skechers and V.F. Corp kick things off this week with earnings on Thursday and Friday. Expect lots of attention on individual brands to see if consumer spending boosted this past spring.
Brands Debut Big Sneaker Releases
Brands are getting into the Olympic spirit with big releases this week. Nike unveiled six sneaker releases today, including the LeBron Zoom Soldier 10, which arrives in red, white and blue colorway. Under Armour has another Curry 2.5 coming on Saturday, and New Balance’s Moonshot sneakers land midweek.
All Eyes On Trade In Cleveland
Trade is getting full attention at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this week. While drafts of the Republican Party platform have been released leading up to the main event, expect lots of chatter around how expected nominee Donald Trump has affected the typically open and free trade supported party position and what that means for the general election come November.
Footwear executives gather Tuesday at the New York Stock Exchange to talk top trends in sourcing, shipping and changes in the global supply chain at the annual Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America Sourcing Intelligence Summit. Companies include Under Armour, Caleres and Fila.
