1. Milan Fashion Week Starts Wednesday

Wednesday Feb. 24 marks the halfway point of fashion month mayhem with shows kicking off in Milan. London Fashion Week wraps tomorrow, Feb. 23.

2. Awards Season Hits Fever Pitch

Awards season is slowly but surely wrapping up stateside with the king of all Hollywood awards shows: The Oscars. The show starts at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, Feb. 28. The Brit Awards — the U.K. equivalent of the Grammy’s — take place on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

3. Big Footwear Players Report Quarterly Earnings

Major players in footwear and fashion report earnings this week. Many eyes are on outdoor brand Wolverine after mild winter weather and fashion brand Steve Madden, which has been swimming against unfavorable trends for women’s. Foot Locker reports on Friday after dominating sneaker and athletic retail for several quarters.

4. Sole Commerce Hosted in NYC

The New York trade show focused on footwear starts Monday, Feb. 22, and wraps on Wednesday at the Javits Center.

5. Store Opening Update: Bally, Sonia Rykiel

Bally opened a Los Angeles flagship in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive. The store is one of three planned for the U.S. in the next two years. Next year, the company plans to open in Hawaii and Miami.
