The label presented a slick, ultra-modern 2,828 sq.-ft. retail space when it opened doors on Sunday at its new flagship store in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Featuring a Spanish revival-style architecture exterior — a nod to Florida’s early history — the layout inside includes ambient lighting, cinemagraph wall panels designed with striking views of natural environments and deconstructed images of Ugg’s “sunflake” pattern, which is found of the sole of the boot.
Sections of the store include men’s, women’s, kid’s, lifestyle and a limited edition collection of Disney-inspired products.
A classics bar houses the Ugg Classic sheepskin boot collection, alongside a customization bar and digital platform to access exclusive Ugg content.
The launch celebrates the 10th anniversary of Ugg’s first flagship store in New York City’s Soho neighborhood, which will undergo the same transformation later this year along with stores in Shanghai and Tokyo.
“Our new retail environment is the pinnacle Ugg brand experience,” Deckers Brands’ president of Omni-Channel Stefano Caroti said in a statement.
The executive from Ugg’s parent company added that the new retail space honored the brand’s history and “offers a glimpse into our exciting future.”
In April, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was named the company’s first brand ambassador as it developed new products that expanded on its classic sheepskin footwear range.
Design firm Checkland Kindleysides’ creative director Joe Evans said the new store offers consumers a “relaxing social environment. Inspiration came from the Californian roots of the brand, its connections to nature and its modernist vibe — a sense of stylish living.”
