VF Corp. owned brand Timberland named Jim Pisani as global brand president Monday.

Pisani takes over the role effective immediately and will report to Scott Baxter, VF vice president and group president of outdoor and action sports Americas. Pisani succeeds Stewart Whitney, who was named president in October 2014. Pisani previously served as the president of VF’s Licensed Sports Group.

Timberland is a key brand for VF Corp’s business. In 2008 Pisani joined VF in its licensed sports group.  The category manages Majestic, the on-field uniform brand for Major League Baseball. Before arriving as Pisani held executive roles in branding, merchandising, sales and marketing at PepsiCo and Kraft Foods.

“I’m truly honored to be given the responsibility to lead this powerful and iconic brand with such rich history,” said Pisani in a release. “There are so many opportunities in front of the Timberland brand and I look forward to partnering with the talented teams around the world to leverage our collective strengths and accelerate growth.”

Mike Pardini takes the helm as president of the licensed sports group. He was previously VP of sales for the division.
