Los Angeles-based luxury sneaker label Buscemi announced Tuesday that Rebecca Damavandi has joined the brand as CEO.

Damavandi takes over for previous CEO Andrew Ajlun. Damavandi has held positions at Vince, Elie Tahari and the Kellwood Company. Most recently, she was group president of global business at Vince.

As CEO, Damavandi will be tasked with helping the luxury sneaker line debut a New York flagship during Fashion Week, pushing the development of the women’s collection and a relaunch of e-commerce this fall.

“I couldn’t be more excited about Rebecca joining our team. I am thrilled to be working alongside such a talent. Her clear knowledge of where Busemi needs to go and how we can get there will help unlock the brand’s potential. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together,” said Creative Director Jon Buscemi in a release.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to partner with Jon and deliver a compelling product while building a best-in-class team, enhancing business performance and improving the customer experience,” said Damavandi. “Jon and I have a clear vision of where we want Buscemi to go, and I look forward to taking the brand to the next level.”
