The Chloé woman likes to move. How can she ensure that those long, floaty layers waft in the wind just so? Thus, in Clare Waight Keller’s latest collection, she gave her girl a kit and caboodle of walkable options.
Almost all were sandals with a new shape for the house — a low block heel, usually no more than two inches. To keep things interesting and insolent, uppers came in the form of twisted and knotted leathers with interlacing and also a wide single panel to form a mule. The knotted leather mules and laceup sandals were offered in an interwoven rainbow of colors.
It wasn’t the strongest of statements, but as the models drifted past on the runway, it was also easy to forget that they were modeling, so unencumbered and effortless were their swishy strides. It made the corresponding street style show outside (full of stilettos and tricky boots) seem forced by comparison.
