Despite the success of Taylor Swift’s latest track “Blank Space,” the first single off her album “1989” has found a surprising new fan.
A Dover, Del., police officer was caught jamming to Swift’s insanely catchy “Shake it Off” while on patrol. Thanks to a sneaky dashboard cam, the officer can be seen choreographing his own routine to the tune.
The move is part of a new “DashCam Confessional” series the police department is running. Responding to the social frenzy surrounding the video of Officer Jeff Davis, the department said:
“We decided we would share some [clips] with you in a new Web series called “DashCam Confessionals… We hope you enjoy this…and Taylor Swift, if you’re watching…we’re sorry.”
In 2014, FN analyzed the footwear medley in Swift’s music video, launched in August. From ballerina pointe shoes to sneakers to iridescent gold kicks, the 25-year-old slipped on all kinds of shoes as she danced to lyrics like:
“Cause the players gonna play, play, play/ And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate/ Baby I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake/ Shake it off.”
(If you haven’t already clicked on the Youtube link, we believe you’ll be tempted with lyrics like that).
Swift’s been busy lately. After joining her celeb BFF Lorde on the red carpet last week at a Golden Globes after-party, the singer posted a series of pics with some famous friends, including models Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt and Ashley Avignone. Swift stands in the center wearing gold peep-toe pumps in the pic, which she captioned: “I didn’t get the ‘let’s all wear black’ memo.”
