Allen Edmonds, known for its classic men’s footwear produced in the U.S., is launching its first Student Interview Offer today to help younger consumers begin their professional careers. The in-store offer will grant students with a valid student ID savings of more than $150 to encourage them to invest in dress shoes suitable for interviews and beyond.

The company warns that while schools prepare students when it comes to writing a resume and seeking job opportunities, they have not prepared them for how to dress for the job.

“Our research shows that 80 percent of hiring executives says shoes are ‘extremely important’ in creating the right impression in work environments, but only 51 percent of young men wear appropriate shoes to an interview,” said Paul Grangaard, CEO of Allen Edmonds. “That’s why we’ve designed this new [program] to encourage students to invest in a pair of shoes that will help them dress for success.”

They’re a good investment: The shoes can be re-crafted by the Port Washington, Wis.-based company, prolonging their life.

To take advantage of the offer, visit an Allen Edmonds retail store and present a valid student ID. Students can then buy one of the label’s top-selling styles, such as the Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Strand, McAllister or Warwick. The offer also includes a matching Manistee or Wide Basic dress belt and a pair of cedar shoe trees, all for $350 (a savings of over $150 off retail).
