Villa, Timberland Collaborate On Old Glory 6-Inch Boot

With Labor Day around the corner, fashion retailer Villa and Timberland have teamed up for the release of Old Glory, a collaboration on the brand’s classic 6-inch boot dedicated to what the retailer deems the new American dream.

“Before you had to get more of a blue collar job to make a living. There’s been a transition where anything you’re passionate about you can essentially make a career,” said Damian Rodriguez, digital lead for Villa. “You’ve got guys who are deejays, you’ve got guys that are street artists, you’ve got guys that are writers, and they’re all making a living doing things that they love.”

The boot features a navy blue premium leather upper with a red collar that features white stars. The shoe also boasts navy blue and white laces and a red outsole. The boot is available in men’s, grade school, pre-school and toddler sizes, with prices of $200, $130, $85 and $75, respectively.

To celebrate the boot’s release, the brand held a party in New York City on Thursday night at Wallplay, which will also serve as the pop-up shop location for Friday and Saturday. The pop-up shop, located at 118 Orchard Street, gives the retailer a chance to connect with its New York City customers, a city where the retailer does not currently have a storefront.

“New York is special to us. It’s our No. 1 online market and we wanted to give our fans an opportunity to experience it in an actual store experience,” said Patrick Walsh, CMO for Villa. “Unlike our stores, we don’t get a chance to have a face-to-face conversation with our customers in New York City. That’s what this is about, to engage our customers and give them a good experience.”

Old Glory is available now at Villa stores, online, and via the Wallplay pop-up shop. The pop-up shop is open Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Timberland has had a busy year with popular collaborations, such as the Pharrell Williams-designed Bee Line byBillionaire Boys Club boots, which included the special-edition Honeycomb boot worn by singer Beyoncé in the Nicki Minaj music video for the song “Feeling Myself.”
