Converse is thinking a bit out of this world with a new collection inspired by vintage space travel and events during the Space Race.
The Converse First String Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 Space Collection, which hits stores today, uses images of old-school rocket ships and space gear in the designs.
One high-top sneaker takes its coloring and graphics from spaceships that took astronauts to the moon. The sneaker is black and white with pops of red and includes 3M reflective elements as well. The toe cap is ribbed, and the sole is a translucent gray.
The second sneaker is a neutral color and takes its pattern inspiration from the splash-down balloons the astronauts used to land safely back on Earth. The style’s toe cap is leather.
The sneakers have a price tag of $120 and are available at Converse retail stores and online.
Only last month, Converse released their holiday colorways of the Chuck II and only yesterday Barney’s unveiled an exclusive collection from the brand.
If these kicks don’t have you thinking about aliens and outer space, we’re not sure what will.
