Adidas Drops New Superstar Capsule Collection Inspired by New York Knicks-Brooklyn Nets Team Rivalry

The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets fiercest fans now have a new shoe to show their true colors.

Inspired by the ongoing competition between the two teams, Adidas Originals has released a capsule collection of Superstar styles that pay tribute to the teams.

Called East River Rivalry Pack, the brand uses the shell-toe sneaker as its battleground. The pack includes signature team colors (white, blue and orange for the Knicks and black-and-white for the Nets, sports fans) whipped up in four contrasting models. A touch of luxe is added via gold details and snakeskin Adidas stripes and heel tabs, though the crisp white outsole is left untouched.

As FN previously reported, this latest offering is part of a much bigger Superstar story for Adidas. The athletic player had a breakout hit on its hands (feet?) last year with the Stan Smith hoopla and hopes to replicate that success with another of its archival styles.

While the Stan Smith sneaker resonated for its clean-slate appeal, with the Superstar, Adidas is betting on more frequent drops of various styles to keep the hype going. New releases include cream-colored ’80s vintage versions and allover white takes.
