Stacy London Hits TLC; Her Best Footwear Quips

Stacy London fans can rejoice — she’s back. The “What Not to Wear” star returns to TV on Friday with her new TLC series, “Love, Lust, or Run.”

While her former show focused on makeovers, this program will do “make-unders” — toning down over-the-top looks. When it comes to footwear, however, London’s taste seems to be the taller and more extravagant, the better.

FN takes a look at some of her best shoe statements — and they include a lot of sass. We expect nothing less from the quip-ready star.

How high is too high? “The higher the heel, the closer to God.”

Shoe that changed my life: “The ruby slippers my mother made me to be Dorothy for Halloween when I was 6.”

Most uncomfortable pair: “If a shoe is completely beautiful and tall with a super-high heel, I’m willing to suffer. [But I did have] a pair that I had to get rid of, so I sold them at a charity event. They were Givenchy gold, open-toe, six-inch heels. They were uncomfortable because they were at least a size too big, and it was impossible to manage the heel height and the size. It was so hard — so hard — to let them go because they were such beautiful shoes.”

Oldest pair: Vintage Anne Klein cork wedges from 1974, bought on eBay about 10 years ago. “Those are definitely the oldest made, [but] I’m a big recycler. There are shoes I’ll hold onto because I love them, but I try not to be sentimental about things. I never hold onto things because it’s like, ‘Oh, I wore that to my prom.’ That kind of attachment keeps you from moving forward and evolving stylewise.”
