Fans of the reboot get a peek at what’s to come in the contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team.
In “Fantastic Four,” the team must learn to harness their abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend-turned-enemy. Teller plays Mr. Fantastic, the leader of the team, with the ability to stretch his body; Mara is Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman; Jordan plays the Human Torch and Bell is The Thing.
Based on the trailer, it looks as though the reboot will be nothing like its light-hearted predecessor, which starred Jessica Alba and Chris Evans.
In the trailer, a voiceover says: “How did we get this far? Human beings have an immeasurable desire to discover, to invent, to build. Our future depends on us furthering these ideas, a responsibility that rests on the shoulders of generations to come. But with every new discovery, there is risk, there is sacrifice and there are consequences.”
Director Josh Trank and screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg sat down for an exclusive commentary with Yahoo Movies. It seems the costume suits were created to have a real science function, to help the team contain their powers.
The film debuts on Aug. 7, when fans will finally be able to see the entire “Fantastic Four” costume lineup, but until then, here’s a look at some superhero footwear.
