On Tuesday, the pair was spotted hiking in Los Angeles wearing matching white sneakers with cut-off shorts. It’s a safe bet that Swift opted for a pair of white Keds, as she’s been the face of the Wolverine brand since 2012, while Lorde laced up Adidas’ Stan Smith style, which picked up Shoe of the Year at FN’s achievement awards in 2014.
Swift is often seen in her flat canvas kicks, which suit her feminine 50s aesthetic perfectly, but the casual look was a departure for Lorde, whose signature style has a more darkly dramatic flair.
Earlier this week, the “Blank Space” singer was on hand to support her brunette pal at the Golden Globes in L.A., where 18-year-old Lorde was nominated for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture from “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1.” Although she lost out to John Legend, Lorde was all smiles as she partied afterward with friends, including Selena Gomez and Lena Dunham. By that point, the singer had swapped her Narciso Rodriguez red carpet outfit for a cropped top, pants and pointy stilettos. Swift hit the after-party circuit beside her friend wearing a lemon yellow Jenny Packham dress with Jimmy Choo heels.
The duo have been out and about in California for the past few days, sharing pictures from their trip to Catalina Island. Model Jamie King posted a pic on her Instagram with the caption: “Surround yourself with those that make your Soul flourish.”
