Raf Simons is certainly well-known in the fashion world, having produced his own label as well as working for Jil Sander and Christian Dior. Now the rest of the world is getting to know the Belgian native, too. According to Google’s 2015 search review, Simons was the most-Googled fashion designer of the year.
Simons made headlines in October when he exited Christian Dior after three years as the house’s creative director. Prior to Dior, Simons had held the same position at Jil Sander from 2005-2012. Dior’s fall ’15 latex boots with acrylic block heels became a street-style favorite during Simons’ tenure.
Simons is also known for his continuing partnership with Adidas. For spring ’16, the designer showed all-white and all-gray takes on the Stan Smith sneaker, with his signature perforated “R” on the sides. The full spring collection also has pastel styles, as well as copper and silver metallics.
The other top-searched designers include Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss of the Shoshanna swimwear line, Giambattista Valli, Thakoon Panichgul and Tadashi Shoji.
Google also found that the most-asked fashion question was, “How to walk in heels?” Other shoe-related questions: “What to wear booties with?” and “What are mules shoes?”
