Jerome Rousseau is putting on his dancing shoes. While the designer has a handful of favorite brands, he has one shoe in mind that he’d like to be.

Here, the designer takes a spin with the FN 3.

1. How many pairs do you personally own?

“I own about 60 pairs of shoes that I wear on rotation. I am good at letting go of styles that I don’t wear anymore before getting new ones. My favorite brands are Del Toro, George Esquivel and Buscemi. I love the Del Toro Chukka boot, as it comes in many color and material variations that I can match to any outfit.”

2. Heels or flats to complete an outfit?

“There’s no general rule here. It obviously depends on the outfit and the person wearing it. I really don’t like to have strict dressing rules. It’s the musicians, actors and artists who push the boundaries who end up influencing the generations ahead. I vote for personal style over fashion any day. That said, I personally think a great pair of heels can often literally lift up a woman’s outfit and confidence.”

3. If you were a shoe, what shoe would you be?

“I’d be a glamorous shoe that’s been danced in many times.”
