The shoe drive will occur next week, from Nov. 16 to Dec. 13, at Feit’s two New York store locations, 2 Prince Street and 11A Greenwich Avenue. Customers can either visit the stores and donate a pair of gently worn shoes, or purchase a new pair of Feits during the allocated week, with a percentage of sales going to refurbish any donated shoes.
Bonus incentive: All participating customers will also receive 25 per cent off their next Feit purchase — a win-win situation.
Known for its anti-fast-fashion approach, Feit’s shoes are all made using natural materials, with leather laces and hand-stitched detailing. The brand just opened its second Nolita location last December.
According to Coalition For The Homeless, the homeless population in New York has reached nearly 60,000 this year, with 40 percent of that number being children. Founded in 2012, It’s From The Sole repairs donated sneakers and distributes them to those needing new, clean shoes.
Donations can also be made online at http://www.feitdirect.com.
