This week, FN’s sneaker columnist, Stacey Griffith — senior mastor instructor at SoulCycle — goes for high-end kicks. See her thoughts on the style below:

“I am excited to  announce another extremely yummy sneaker from one of my favorite designers, Brunello Cucinelli. This is the flannel-meets-floral Monili slip-on. It’s all about adapting the classic Vans silhouette and mixing it with luxe Cucinelli details. The Monili embellishment has become synonymous with Brunello’s designs, and the strategic stitching, with a diamond-dusted metallic fabric, is what makes it really special.

It’s one thing to stick a stud somewhere, but Brunello crafts a design on top of flannel and cashmere and then wraps it in the corner with the softest piece of brown leather. Brunello is like the Luke Skywalker of couture sneaker design. Not only does he nail the woven artistry, he kills it with the layer and recession of the rubber soles, giving the actual shoe a base to show off on — without overshadowing the look. Bravo once again to the Brunello Cucinelli team!”
