Kristen Stewart and Rooney Mara were among those who attended Chanel’s Métiers d’Art show in Rome on Tuesday. The show’s theme, Paris in Rome, could not have been more relevant, as the City of Light grieves over the Nov. 13 terror attacks.
“I didn’t know when we started the idea of Paris in Rome that it would be the best moment to show a perfect, romantic Paris when Paris today in reality is the opposite of a romantic city,” Lagerfeld said during a preview of his collection.
The Métiers d’Art collections highlight the work and craftsmanship of Chanel’s aristan partners who help create the house’s collections. Past shows have been held in Salzburg, Dallas and Edinburgh.
Stewart, along with other actresses, such as Julianne Moore and Lily-Rose Depp, have become the house’s new muses. At the show, Lagerfeld premiered “Once and Forever,” a short film starring Stewart as an actress in a Chanel biopic.
Stewart wore the very same Chanel ensemble that Kendall Jenner wore on the house’s spring ’16 runway.
Other attendees included Geraldine Chaplin, daughter of Charlie Chaplin, and Melusine Ruspoli, an Italian royal.
