In the footwear corner, Tabitha Simmons nabbed a coveted CFDA award nomination for Accessories Designer of the Year — and Paul Andrew is up for the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design, which recognizes emerging talent.
Other nominees this evening include, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen of The Row along with Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler – who are both up for Womenswear Designer of the Year as well as Accessories Designer of the Year.
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli for Valentino are taking home tonight’s International Award.
But before the awards are handed out and the accolades begin, both industry power-players and celebrities alike have hit the red carpet in their finest, knowing that the fashion world and beyond will be watching with bated breath. Whilst we’ve seen plenty of sky-high looks so far, model Karlie Kloss broke the trend and opted for metallic silver Genoa flats by Jimmy Choo. And designer Betsey Johnson made an impact when she did the splits in studded sneakers.
Actress Emmy Rossum opted for black Paul Andrew pumps, and both Amanda Seyfried and Janelle Monae chose Louboutin sandals. Presenter Kim Kardashian West arrived with husband Kanye West. The star wore head-to-toe custom Proenza Schouler.
