This week, FN’s sneaker columnist Stacey Griffith—a senior master instructor at SoulCycle—goes for custom Adidas Stan Smiths. See her thoughts on the personalized style below:
8220;Sometimes you just have to DIY your own kicks—and there’s nothing better to do it with than with a pair of blank Stan Smiths. This shoe is one of the most iconic sneakers out there. It’s comfortable, it’s versatile and you can dress it up or down. They are also easy to paint, just use paint pens from Blick’s and a good ol’ fashioned can of spray paint!
Warning: you should always have a plan before you start detailing your shoes. I chose a classic LV logo and free-handed it in the toe box, leaving them to dry in the hot summer shade in the Hamptons. Go for it this week and add your own personal touch. Good luck!”
