Kids Foot Locker launched another holiday campaign starring Curry on Wednesday. It’s the second holiday commercial collaboration between them this year.
“I’m excited to be in my second Kids Foot Locker commercial during this holiday season,” Curry said in a release. “I had a great time filming this spot and showing a different side of basketball that people don’t get to see — but it’s hard work!”
The 30-second spot, titled “Game Film,” opens with two kids touring a practice facility when they discover Curry studying a game film in a plush reclining chair.
The two young boys are, of course, sporting Under Armour-branded gear — courtesy of Kids Foot Locker. Curry has been one of the Under Armour’s biggest endorsers this year, with his sponsorship deal recently extended through 2024.
The commercial has a sarcastic tone as Curry attempts to convince the youngsters that he is hard at work, watching a game film and drinking a protein shake to rejuvenate. In contrast, the kids see Curry relaxing on a cozy chair, enjoying a “milkshake.”
“We’re excited to launch our second commercial celebrating the holiday season by offering our young customers the freshest footwear, apparel and gear,” said Stacy Cunningham, EVP of marketing for Foot Locker. “Working with Stephen Curry is always wonderful, and ‘Game Film’ is a fun way to look at some of the preparation that goes into game day by a pro basketball star.”
Foot Locker also brought back its #WeakOfGreatness campaign this year. Curry stars in an ad, dubbed “Just Like Pros,” that features three youngsters.
