The New York-based contemporary brand has bowed its second West Coast store in the Westfield Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara, Calif. At 2,896 square feet, the new location is the largest Sam Edelman store, including those planned to open in the next year.
“[My wife and business partner] Libby and I lived in Northern California for 10 years, and we have continued to watch the exciting growth of this area,” said Sam Edelman, designer, founder and president of Sam Edelman, a division of St. Louis-based Caleres. “With the opening of our Valley Fair location, we are thrilled to have a store back home.”
Designed by Dagnell Folger of Architecture + Information, the store’s interior showcases an interesting mix of materials, such as reclaimed wood and raw concrete with accents of rose-colored brass and black leather. Hints of the brand’s signature shade of green provide a punch of color, while vintage furniture curated by Edelman himself are featured throughout the space for a personal touch.
The store houses the full Sam Edelman lifestyle offering — from shoes and handbags to apparel — as well as a dedicated section for the Circus by Sam Edelman diffusion label.
Next week, the Edelmans will celebrate another big moment when the couple is inducted into the shoe industry’s Hall of Fame at the 29th annual FN Achievement Awards on Dec. 2.
